Police intimidation?

What really happens when the police stops a woman and the woman whips out a camera to film them?

Can the police take your I.C. and not give it back? Were they threatening and intimidating me?

Watch to find out and give your comments.

  1. The police should not react negatively when filmed. They've done

nothing wrong. PDRM should educate their people about this kind

of situation. Anyway, I'm glad nothing seriously bad happened and credits to the police for cooling down in the end

  2. do you notice that one of the guy did not have his helmet on properly. action should be taken against him for doing that. but who can do it.the plate of the mc i suppose is also not of jpj standard.

  3. 1st of all u are too much lady! If u cooperate well there were no such thing will happen! If they are fake police then different story lah.
U did wrong police saman u take it lah why need to talk so much?
See the way u talk to others u sounds like looking for trouble type u know or not? In Cantonese we say ???? 'jor chai pan kung'
Menganggu polis menjalankan tugas! Think back lah!

  4. If she did commit an offense why did they take so long to issue the summons, and since when did this classification of offense requires you to go to the Police Station. Don't these fellas know the difference between a Traffic Offence and a Criminal Offence???.?.?

  5. Pam,

  6. Can someone in authority confirm if these are genuine cops or what. Their uniforms look fake and the way they carried themselves also seems suspicious. All those who are condemning her for exercising her rights, obviously have not been handled by our "Polis Raja Di Malaysia" or they are from some enforcement department which as usual is corrupted to the maximum. My respect and salute to you Pam and all the other Pams out there.Hidup Negara Saya Malaysia.

  7. Miss Pamela

I sympathise with you, in the sense that sometimes our reactions are due to the disgust we feel when our men-in-blue ask, "macam mana mau settle?"

I understand your frustrations- I've been in a similar predicament at least twice in the past 2 years.

These jokers are the low – life kids that UMNO breeds – and which the latter needs, to stay in power.

In any case, I think you did a remarkably courageous thing in standing up to what you believe to be right. If these clowns had a mature mindset, they would have at least reasoned sensibly with you. But then, I do not expect I help You, You Help me low-lives, to have any common sense at all.

I think by and large, you have inspired many Malaysians today. God bless for your resoluteness!

  8. Malaysia Boleh! Polis macam gangster/samseng – tak dapat duit, merajuk pula!!!

Inilah quality polis kita sekar'ng – sokong-lah UMNO, MCA, MIC, PBS etc etc. Mundurlah negara kita!

    Yah! 1'malaysia!

  9. Pamela, you said, quote, "I maintained that my phone was on the handsfree speaker & I was holding the phone at a distance as I spoke but they kept saying that I did not use the handsfree."

See, you were holding the phone in your hand, according to you! Who cares about your intention or your mistake. Fact is you were holding it in your hands.

The usual Malaysian response would be, to say you are sorry for the offense. I too have done that before..to say I was sorry.

Next, after apologising, you can say "tolong la, maafkan saya encik" Patut saya salah. Tapi sila maafkan".

Well, if he intends to maafkan, he would just tell you next time not to do it. Story over.

Obviously you did not apologise. You probably asked him what your offense was, despite knowing what the offense was. Please don't plead ignorance.

Then again there is the question of the tone of your voice. Cocky? As the rest of your voice sounded?

Sure, assuming what you say is the truth, the boys were willing to play. They were hoping for selesai sini with you.

Ya, I too have been in such a situation, and then with a smile just told them to issue the summons. Handed over the Driving license and wait to sign the summons. That also, my Malaysian Driving license had expired, and thankfully I had a foreign one in my wallet too, I took that out…and when he saw that he asked for my I/C. Why did he need your I/C when he already got your DL? Wonder!!

A simple situation that has been made complex. A situation the cops would have come across many times. In your case maybe first time. For them you are just another usual customer. For you they were a prejudiced lot.

My dear, I think you stuffed this. Not them. The tone that you were using, from the video shows a little arrogance, not one of remorse, atonement, regret, or for that matter, fear. And if this goes any further, mind you, you may not exactly get the kind of sympathy that you might need to get you out of the rut that you might have put yourself in broadcasting this. Be prepared. Of course the cops were idiots…but never mind that. It is not a crime to be an idiot!!

Anyway, best of luck to you.

  10. Firstly, for those of you that are quick to condemn the victim, you obviously have not been trapped in a situation where you're being cowed into submission and feeling hapless. I pray you yourself will not have to experience it. She just decided to stand up to her rights. Its plain that the cops were canvassing and soliciting. Is it not her right to refuse to bribe but to ask for the summons instead? So what if she whipped up her camera phone? She's a citizen journalist for goodness sake.

Most of you are quick to judge, but I know Pam, her moral righteousness and well grounded standing within the civil liberties' circle. On top of being a taxpayer, how many of us pro-actively serve our community and country? How many animals did you save? How many of you have taken the time and effort to contribute and teach n coach under privileged children in your spare time? Struggle for civil liberties? No?

Berani kerana benar. Yang korang sakit hati nape?

  11. BTW- were those coppers actually chewing gum??!!

But Pam – did you write something else on the summons?

    That shouldn't be done I think …

  12. The "Donkey" comment make more sense. But all in all, not because you run a Blog like this and you start fliming anything. They are lowly educated policemen doing their job and are protecting anyone of us from any criminal activites though many a time they failed.

I guess pamela was just getting excited and addicted to upload anything unusual.

Malaysian Civil servant are not that civil as yet. They are still camera shy and still not knowing and not prepared to face anything like that. Afterall they have not travelled a lot and have not been in other people's shoes.

How about the guy on the bike was pamela ? If one of the guy on the bike was Pamela, surely she's only attend her highest education at Form 5 level. Most likely she will react worst that they 2 on duty general cops.

The other thing, the two police men need not told Pamela to follow them to the police station. They should just write the summon and pass the copy together with her IC back to her and ride off. By standing ther and roaming around her car is amounted to Intimidation (Kampung style). This was where the 2 policemen made a blunder of themselves.

Pamela was just lucky they the two guys were quite cool or else a trigger will be pulled. Bing too brave may end up our useful life. May people may praise your braveness but that type of braveness is quite stupid as it doesn't serve any purpose. The only purpose was just to intimedate the two on duty policemen….

Don't be too brave for the wrong reason….Fliming a policemen on duty is not a good thing to do. It is almost like you were on flim while in the wash room.

  13. There is nothing wrong with Pamela's english. We Malaysians studied both Bahasa Malaysia and English and there is no rule forbidding Malaysians from speaking English with the police so stop making so much fuss about Pamela's english. In fact, most government staff are speaking in english nowadays even when I speak in BM to them. So there. Kudos to Pamela for having the guts to stand up to such rude policemen. They need retraining on how to treat civilians so that they do not feel intimidated but would be willing to cooperate when asked to. It is a natural response from anyone to feel defensive when being intimidated. The police force need to clean up its ACT.

  14. A cop's job is to issue the summons and not be rude or talk irrelevantly – he has to be polite firm & "matter-of-fact" regardless of the conduct of the civilian.

From my experience – so far I haven't encountered any cop talking like this idiot. So far, all whom I have encountered have been quite okay.

Anyway – this looks too unreal to me.

    Their uniforms/helmets don't look genuine.

These coppers don't look genuine to me.

"Jumpa di YouTube"??!! Taking video is "Menakutkan orang"?!!?

"Ambik gambar … ambik gambar …."!!

WTH- He actually asks "rakyat mana"???!!

Uniforms too light blue- could it be due to the camera or lighting? Possible, but unlikely …..

Both police no serial number? And one is a corporal …

From the last comment – looks like the summons was genuine.

So how com we have copper dressed like this (without serial numbers) and talk like uneducated fellas?

  15. Dear Pamela,

I just want to say I support you all the way.

    I understand what you did.

This is why about nine to ten families flee Malaysia daily.

I wish I could be one of them.

The Malaysia I know is even darker than the one you know.

You have my email and if you are interested in my views/experience, you can write to me.

Many people who commented negatively here missed the point.

You took the video to protect yourself and to make sure that they do not intimidate/harass you further.

They should have gave you the summons and leave. They could have stuck it on the windscreen.

It is not necessary that they get your signature on it.

I have paid summons without signing them.

    All the best,

    Maxwell, Penang

  16. All these LAWYER always like to BERLAGAK when they are STOPPED by COPS. They think they know the LAW & this is why they always push their LUCK with the COPS. This is so uncalled for. So what if one is a LAWYER??? Can't these DONKEYS just COOPERATE??? What is so DIFFICULT???

PAMELA??? The way this SUNDAL behaved sounds more like that PAMELA who always appear in PORNOGRAPHIC movies. Takda OTAK punya "Come FUCK me" type of SUNDAL.

  17. Dear Mr.Police & all,

Let the joker films whatever she likes to if you are genuine in carry out your duty and let her scribble whatever she likes to as the summons book belongs to the gov, arrest her if you can objectively proved that she is insulting you as a police in carry out your duty.Unless you have bad intention and automatically you will feel guilty and worry you been filmed/video and therefore you have acted irrational or other reason that was better known by you.

Take whatever challenge that come from the public and don let your uniform down, I think you should go back to study the penal code and criminal procedure code and your Hukuman Tetap KPN again before back to the street.

If I were you I will report on air the whole episode to Bilik Gerakan and bring or cause to bring the challenger back to police station for futher action.

Anyway,I had resigned from the force as I could not swallow some behavior in the force.Period.

  18. Anak Iban – if you took the trouble to watch the video properly, they did not just hold Pamela's IC and Driving License for inspection, but unlawfully confiscated it, wanting her to follow them, as they claim to a police station. Has it crossed your mind that they may lead her somewhere else and harm her?

  19. When kena STOP by COPS, please COOPERATE lah. Why wanna cari PASAL for no reason, right??? Afterall, that BITCH was indeed WRONG.

That BITCH doesn't even know what is the difference between HANDSFREE & SPEAKER. That BITCH was using LOUD SPEAKER mode & that's NOT HANDSFREE. Someone told me this BITCH is a LAWYER ar??? I think she BELI her FAKE LAW DEGREE from somewhere in CHOW KIT lah. The intelligence of this LAWYER is only worth working as a TEA LADY or TOILET CLEANER or some occupation that DOESN'T need to PAKAI OTAK.

What's even more HILARIOUS is she tried to speak ENGLISH macam MAT SALLEH. Adoi!!!! Cinta BAHASA MALAYSIA sikit. Somemore, she had the cheek to say she is WARGA MALAYSIA.

Just "BEH TAHAN" this kinda SUNDAL lah!!!

  20. Elo zaid, if u r in this case

the situation will be diff like this

    ass'kum ala sikit hal aje

    ada hal penting and go

Or u can oso mentioned saudara pun

    dalam pasukan as excuse

    this is the usual right

  21. Pam..u got off none the worse.thank god for it.I was in a worse situation once..they acted like gangsters….damnworse thaan gangsters..just like highway man…gotta called their superior before they realised that they have made an ass of themselves…

  22. The COPS should have just pulled out their GUNS & shoot dead that BITCH who got summoned. This kinda of SLUT is NOT worth living.

  23. and please, if you want interpretation of the Act dont you think you should get clarification from AG?

And not the two policemen who were enforcing that day? Picking up a fight when u know they could not answer.

Anyway, puhlease "i am scared". it sounds so fake. And you were provoking. must be very frustrating for the policemen. I pity them.

  24. there is certainly no reason to be upset about being video taped. it should be the norm. if the policeman is honeat and doing his job, he should be happy to be taped and he can demonstrate to the whole world how professional and fair they are. why get angry if you have not planned something else? smile, give the summons, get promoted.

  25. Simply two typical lowlife cops looking for a bribe and didnt get it. The country should have more Pamelas who stand up for their rights. The different color helmets look fishy to me.

  26. Pam, they asked you just to sign the summon and that was it. Things that became ugly was because you wrote something on the summon. That made the policemen angry. Why don't you just sign and go? You the one who made things difficult. Right? What right? You commit an offence and you will get summon. So shame on you.

  27. This is what had transpired:-

I was flagged down after turning right at the junction of Federal Highway adjoining Jalan Gasing/Jalan University. When I stopped the car to ask what I was stopped for, the policeman said I committed an offence, for using the mobile phone without handsfree. I maintained that my phone was on the handsfree speaker & I was holding the phone at a distance as I spoke but they kept saying that I did not use the handsfree. They asked for my IC & driver's license in which I complied & gave it to them. As they were holding the summons book, they didn’t read out which Act that I had violated when I asked them what the difference was, between using a handsfree kit & the handsfree speaker. Then they asked me how I would like to settle the matter. Then I asked them, how do you normally settle matters like this. Then they said, if I want to settle it normally, it would be a hassle for me. Then they waited for my response. I told them, I didn’t think that I have committed an offence per se, but if they say that I have, then I am willing to accept the summons as I’m obviously in the wrong by using the phone according to them. I have always used the handsfree kit but that day, I hadn’t plug it in & my mistake was answering the phone by putting it on handsfree speaker & was flagged down before I could put the phone on my holster. Look at the video again, my phone holster is stuck on the right of my windscreen. As they insisted that I was wrong, I insisted that they gave me the summons for it. They began to taunt me with words in Malay & if I hadn’t read the RED BOOK by the Bar Council to know what to do when confronted by the police, I would not know what to do or what to expect next. I asked them for their names & their ID numbers in which they got defensive. Then I thought if they were going to hassle me further, I might as well record their actions on photographs. I photographed them with my phone so that I have evidence of my encounter with them should I want to challenge the summons in court. They began to yell at me for taking pictures, accusing me of ‘intimidating’ them & that I have no rights to take pictures of their uniform as it was government property. When they began to intimidate me with their words, was when I switched to video mode. What followed was all recorded for you to see.

I had no idea what they were getting at except that they were trying to intimidate me to submit to their demands. When they handed me the summons to sign, I wrote on it that 'I do not accept as I had handsfree,' the police went livid. There is no law that states that you can’t write anything in protest of a summons for an offence that you do not admit to. Signing the summons denote acceptance of the summons, not the offence. All the time, I had the video on, filming with my left hand. He shouted at me. Questioning what rights do I have, implying that I should have none when dealing with the police. He kept questioning me WHO I AM. Does it matter who I am? I am an ordinary citizen who has rights. Does it mean that if I were a ‘somebody,’ this treatment would have been different? Does it mean that if I was a somebody, I would be let off? Why was the policeman so adamant in asking me who I was? What difference would it make if they had decided already that I had committed an offence? Or would my offence be a non-offence if they had known how my family had been a close source to the family of the late Tun Razak & the father of our independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman?

When they refused to return my IC & license, beckoning & summoning me to follow them back to the station, I refused & stated my rights & that I will report them for they had stolen’ my IC. That's when they realised I knew the law. If I had committed an offence & obstructed justice, why didn’t they arrest me? They also refused to issue me the summons until they decided that they flouted the law themselves & returned my IC, license together with the summons issued. THEY REFUSED TO HAND ME THE SUMMONS FOR ME TO GO. This probably did not even occur to you because you didn’t watch the video properly. These policemen abused their power to talk down a lady, threaten me by withholding my IC & license & yet demand the respect at the same time, how is that possible? No one is allowed to hold on to your IC, not even security guards at the condo entry points.

All of you who condemned me obviously had never been in a situation like mine, where you were made to feel small & insignificant for refusing to cower under pressure for an offence that I did not consciously commit. Being a female, I would have been subjected to a lot worse if I was intimidated by them to follow them to goodness-knows-where. I was well aware of the fact that they didn’t have their ID numbers on them & had every reason to be suspicious. In a country where I’m viewed in the same light as a ‘pendatang’ (illegal immigrant) & accused of having an ancestry of prostitutes, I ought to be wary of every encounter with anyone who come across to me in such a manner.

It’s interesting to see how many of you distort the topic of intimidation & threats when the police outnumbered me.

For those who think I shouldn’t be a citizen of Malaysia, you ought to know that I am the descendent of Malaya’s first court interpreter, Peter Lim & can trace back four generations. I am a law abiding citizen & a God-fearing person. I have also compounded my summons & paid the fine. I have decided to make this video public not to seek publicity but to educate the public especially women, on their rights when confronted by the police & when to exercise them. What happened to me, can happen to anybody. I have utmost respect for the police force when they arrest criminals, recover kidnapped children, clamp down on high crimes & solve murder mysteries. I never hesitate to cooperate with them whenever necessary but I will not be intimidated when I refuse to give bribes. Thank you for your time in giving your comments & being so quick to condemn. You ought to read the RED BOOK. I acted within my rights. I was in my confined space. I had every right to defend myself from unruly behaviour. They could have been more courteous. As a tax payer, we are paying their salaries.

  28. It is time that PDRM develop a simple protocol of issuing summons without unnecessary dialogue with the alleged offender. This will help prevent corruption, and harassment of police by citizens who have an axe to grind with the system, which is what I deduct from this video. My apologies if I am wrong in my assessment of this citizen. I do sympathise with the policemen and admire their patient not to punch this haughty lady in the nose.

  29. The two policemen were carrying Polis 257 (summon booklet) which is normally issued to traffic policemen and general duties. Both were attired in `operational` uniforms. I assume that they are general duty policemen.

Under section 24(1) of The Police Act, any police officer may stop and detain any vehicle and requires the driver produce a licence or permit.

Under Section 58(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987. any person in charge of of a motor vehicle on a road shall on being so required by any police officer, any traffic warden, or any road transport officer, produced his driving licence for inspection by such officer.

Under section 25(1)(o) National Registration Act 1959 and Regulations 1990, any person who without lawful authority or reasonable excuse knowingly is in possession of an identity card which does not belong to him shall be guilty of an offence against these Regulations.

In the above incident, the two policemen were just doing their duties. They held Pamela`s identity card for inspection and returned it to her, thus they committed no offence.

  30. Brovo Pem,you are a brave lady, and u did what i used to do..know our rights..i did the same to those lawless police guys ..when they tried to intimidate..From the video clip, it is very obvious that they are bullying you , a lady..

I hope the police would show the clip to their young cops ,so that ,at least they would learn to be more friendly..

  31. Cut the lady some slack. If you've never been in this situation before, its easy to judge. I've been in such a situation before and I can assure you no amount of politeness did me and my friend any good. We were randomly "chosen" and for some "special qualities" at a road block and despite no offence whatsoever being committed nor neither of us being the slightest bit rude to them, they went out of their way to humiliate us at the road block. So please, walk a mile in her shoes first.

  32. YES….clearly they have abused their powers. All they should have done is …"Please Madam can I have yr driving licence!…You have breached the law as you were using your handphone without a hands free kit, are you aware of that? And proceed to write out the Pol 257 ticket and request for her to acknowledge receipt. If she refuses all they have to do is to make a note on the Pol 257. Not necessary to utter uncalled for remarks and abuse. Politeness and professionalism is the key word. But the fish rots from the head…right?????

  33. Well I got to say that is a typical Malaysia policemen but having said that the lady is arrogant and she is actually trying to humilate and embarrass the cops with her ego english speaking attitude. She is a mirror of a bad cop.

  34. I do not know what sparked the the spats but judging from the video, seems like pamela you are trying to make the police look bad by being rude & cocky & hope that they react so that you can have a case of them guilty of intimidating & rude.

1st, you've admiting you broke the traffic rules, so I guess the police did not stop you for fun.

2nd, the spat seems to be about you filming the police. So in the 1st place, why did you do filming them? If any stranger were to filming you in front of you, do you like it?

I agree & against police force for over stepped its boundries in many occasions, but in this case, I wouldn't buy in. It takes 2 to tango, Pamela.. Ask yourself deep down inside, what's your intention??

  35. My personal experience is , I am wrong, they will ask saman n I say saman lah n they ask 3 times n then another one came with the same questions n came the 3rd one who is driving the car ask again saman. I say saman lah n be fast because my daughter is a bit frighten n will be late for tution. I am honest to pay for the saman n I think what they want is kopi o n my daughter is frighten n say don pay kopi o n pay the saman. I want my daughter to know that i am honest n she can feel that this policeman wants kopi o. I hope the policeman will just tell the driver of their mistake n issue saman if they really think i tis wrong without asking so many times by 3 policeman since I ask for the saman in the 1st place

  36. No one should simply bow to police pressure. She may have committed a traffic offence, but why didn't the policemen just give her the summon and moved off? Was she committing any offence by videoing the policemen? On the other hand, by withholding her ic and driving licence, the policemen appeared to on the wrong side of the law. The main problem is that our rakyat do not know their rights and readily accepts the bullying by the authorities. She may not be communicating in BM, but that does not diminishes her rights. She was not intimidating them. Infact she was both courteous and polite to them. Infact, if more people stand up against police bullying, the police will know how to behave better and not take the rakyat for granted. I congatulate you for your righteous bravery.

  37. Pamela has done a very good job highlighting civilian rights, so what are you morons saying that she is intimidating the police. The Malaysian Police is wellknown for their high handedness, ignorance of the basic law and very corrupted bunch of ruling party bell boys..What is the qualifications to be a police constable in Malaysia. And to me the name of one of the policeman does not even sound Malaysian Malay he is Indonesian.

Yes this is the problem with most Malaysians, all with "tidak apa" attitude that is why till kingdom come you all will be bullied…by whoever rule the nation… just like the saying" In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is the king"

  38. Dear Mr. or Ms. Mobile_1999 on 10 October, 2010 at 5:17 pm

Here are my comments to your's on mine…

    Dear Pope,

Your ignorance of Malaysian Civil Rights and Citizenship based on the tenants of the Constitution negotiated during independance is worthy of the decaying education that you have received in the post-1969 reform by the ultra Malays.

    1. It was a routine traffic violation (as the video clearly proofs) and there was no need for Ms. Pamela to whip out her mobile phone and record the whole episode that has unfortunately now led to your comments about my ‘ignorance about Malaysian Civil Rights and Citizenship based on the tenets of the Constitution’… Just so you are aware, one of my idols is Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr., whose famous ‘I have a dream’ speech hangs on the wall in my office. That, I hope, shows you my great appreciation for Civil Rights. We are talking about a simple traffic violation stop here, which the PDRM officers are empowered with under Section 21 and Section 24 of the Police Act 1967, which was passed and gazetted by our Parliament… and also, which should serve as a clear indication to you of my clear understanding of the relevant laws of the country.

    2. As for ‘the decaying education that you have received in the post-1969 reform by the ultra Malays’ – well, I was not as fortunate as you to afford the privilege and benefit of any other ‘higher’ education system. I am the son of an ex-policeman who fought against the communist and who could only afford to give his children the ‘decaying education’ that you so despise. I received my education at La Salle Petaling Jaya, and one of the verses in our famous school rally was ‘SHAKE DOWN THE THUNDER FROM THE SKY’, which I dare say among other virtues instilled in us La Sallians (all over the world), taught us to be bold, brave and to speak up without fear or favour. We were always reminded that we were leaders of men and should lead them with SAPIENTA ET CARITAS (WISDOM and LOVE)… not with blind arrogance and spite.

The police and the government work for the people. It is only in dictatorships and far right wing governments that require us to comply with the Boys in Blue or Brown (Nazi Germany 1934), but then you wouldnt know that.

    1. Yes, you are absolutely correct in the fact that ‘The police and government work for the people’. I agree with you. But it is one thing to expect our ‘servants’ to serve us well and it is another to abuse, threaten and intimidate them and expect them to kowtow to our every demand. If they had benefited from the same privileged schooling and education you had, then they would not be the ‘humble’ civil servants that they are.

    2. No, I was extremely fortunate not to have experienced the brutality, repressiveness and evil of Nazi Germany 1934, but I do feel for the millions who suffered. But to compare our Malaysian Government and our Boys in Blue to the Nazis only shows your complete ignorance and prejudice as well as your total disregard for objectivity.

The laws of the country are set up to protect the citizens not to intimidate them. You are clearly sheep. Go bleat in a corner.

    1. The laws of the country are set up to protect the citizens not to intimidate them…’… Correct, Correct, Correct. Precisely why, we the citizens have to respect and treat our Enforcers of the Law with respect and dignity. There are avenues we are empowered to explore should we want to report corruption and abuse of power and one of the places are at the place called a BALAI POLIS.

    2. ‘You are clearly sheep. Go bleat in a corner.’ – Ha ha… funny la. Baa… Baa…

Those “Boys in Blue” are probably Form 3 miscreants who are unworthy of truck driving for Alam Flora.

Again, the ‘Boys in Blue’ featured without their approval and permission (see the relevant laws on filming) in the video did not benefit from the same privileged schooling and education as you… but to use the term ‘miscreants’ and ‘who are unworthy of truck driving for Alam Flora’ is way off the mark. When you insult them, you insult my Yang DiPertuan Agong as they are officers who serve in POLIS DI RAJA MALAYSIA and that in itself shows that you yourself are not well-versed with the Malaysian Constitution and Laws that are enshrined in it.

Ms Pam is not only brave but she was smart. No one is allowed to hold your identity card and force you to go to any police station unless you are being charged. She was not being charged. She would have been harrased, intimidated and bullied in the police station. Furthermore, she may been held against will by these men. I think you, Mr Pope, need to spend some time is a russian jail.

    1. I will not comment on Ms. Pam’s bravery or intelligence and I did not do that. But, she could have avoided the whole episode had she just cooperated with the Officers of the Law who were acting well within the framework of their powers to stop her for using the handphone while driving.

    2. ‘No one is allowed to hold your identity card and force you to go to any police station unless you are being charged…’… You watch too much American cop TV programmes. Please get a copy of the MALAYSIAN Police Act 1967/Criminal Procedure Code … available at your nearest bookstore. Or, if you like, I could send a copy each to you F.O.C.

    3. It also seems you have a thorough knowledge of what happens in our police stations. To insinuate that ‘she would have been harassed, intimidated and bullied… she may have been held against her will by these men…’ is yet again, way, way, way off the mark.

    4. And, as for me spending time in a Russian jail… I really find it amusing that you wish me that… but take a number and join the long line of many whom I know wish to see me fry in hell… I can’t go there, you see… the poor devil will have to move out. So a Russian jail will be just like the waiting room to hell for me… and hey, I will shake down the thunder there too… I am from La Salle, remember.

For everyone’s info – this does not happen in the UK, Aus or US unless you are being charged for a crime.

    1. Good, I am pretty certain your migration papers to all if not one of the countries above is ready and your bags are packed to leave this country. Let me know your departure date and time and I will come to bid you goodbye… sincerely, with no bad intentions but to assure you that MALAYSIA can and will only get better should you want to return.

Not paying a RM50 bribe was probably her biggest crime.

    1. Aha, so this is the reason why you are so angry… bagi lah dengan ikhlas and don’t tell the whole world about it.

    Baaanyak Terima Kasih!!!

    ;) Pope
