What really happens when the police stops a woman and the woman whips out a camera to film them?
Can the police take your I.C. and not give it back? Were they threatening and intimidating me?

The question that arises is should we think about. What action
occurring in the video should be supported.
Do I support the wise act. Do stupid I do not support the act.
Let us look at the video carefully. What is true and why this happened.
question?
1 – Who Do is trying to make it a sensation of
2 – Why should a recording made? it for what
3 – You have the right to take pictures but do you
think that the police also have the right not to allow pictures
they recorded
4-You are a journalist, but whether you understand the act of journalism.
5 – In this video shows that you are trying to make
Police scold you or speak the voice rises
6 – It seems you are trying to make him racist.
7 – You've got a lot of support dispute.
8 – You are wise, you remove all the comments and only leave the dispute to support you.
9 – You are a coward, trying to find sympathy from the same course with you.
10 – You are trying to make the Malay community and the people hate you, you — Congratulations you have managed to damage the unity that has been built.
11 – Congratulations once you care for a family to educate you to be a racist.
12 – I hope you are not Malaysian citizens but can speak Malay.
13-If you are likely Malaysians born in Malaysia but you have grown up in the street in china or hongkong
A DARE YOU NOT TO LEAVE
AND THE COMMENTS THAT YOU FEAR YOU scolded. EXHAUST YOU.
YOU LIKE THE SOUND OF THE aligned with-YOU WILL KEEP YOU.
What Pam did was good. Just sign the paper and report them? Have any of you who commented like this ever experience this? How many of these reports actually gets thrown out the window? Obviously they did not want to settle the correct way and Pam was hassled with this kind of treatment. Those who commented childish and say she is wrong perhaps would opt for quick and hassle free and a quick go home to tell friends about it, no?
She posted here to want people to know about it. And perhaps the police force would remember that they cannot simply act like they own the law but they are enforcing the law, and pls learn some manners.
Thank you Pam. You are my idol. You dare to speak when many of us wouldn't even lift a finger. I appreciate and support you. See them in court. Thanks again.
If u didn't break any law, they wouldn't have come up to saman u.. further more, just sign the paper and pay the saman. U don't have to scribble on the paper. And what u did Pam was childish.
learnt this the hard way..sorry error in my name column
Why were u flagged down in the 1st place? the police has the right to take yr ID BUT not yr driving license…only JPJ enforcement can do so..anyway,the police did not understand yr comments written as well as yr verbal comments…btw, and "destroying" govt documents is an offence..even tearing it,crumpling it..esp in front of the law enforcers is deemed an offence..i learnt this the hard way..
bagi sya nak tengok si Pam di tuduh di mahkamah atas kesalahan menganggu penjawat awam spt yang dilihat dalam video nya sebagai saksi ,jgn lepas perkara ni nanti melampau..
I'm with Mugilan on this one.
What I fail to understand is, you're clearly fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, and you know these Policemen can't understand English. So why didn't you tell them in Malay? You should be able to, unless you're trying to make them look like idiots, which you probably succeeded. But what are you trying to achieve in doing so? Other than being a complete tool of course.
Gordon, open your eyes. Kevin Tan had summed it up nicely. The situation was not under Pamela's control. It is the police men whom had the upper hand in the situation. And their conduct were anything but professional. Yes, Pamela had committed a traffic offense. Yes, she was being difficult with her attitude. But can you blame her? I can't even make out the police men ID number on their uniform! Are they really on active duty? Why is it that they do not display their ID number on their uniform? I have watched the video 2 times trying to find out their ID number but I couldn't as they did not wear their ID number tag. Police on active duty wear that silver color number tag on their left pocket. But I couldn't find it on these two policemen.
I feel sorry for you because you have no idea how a professional police should conduct. From your comment, it shows that it is ok for the Police to act in such untidy and unprofessional manner. From your comment, it is ok that the police should seize your IC and your driver license when you are not under arrest. I think you need to get yourself a copy of those red booklet to better educate yourself about your citizen right.
Live wif money from corruption
the higher yr position the more money
Fyi,
I do not condone police abusing their powers and I will not hesitate to take them to court. The sad fact of life is when you commit a violation of the law you expose yourself to this risk. Under the circumstances you shoud avoid being defiant and confrontational because they can use many methods within the law to make life miserable for you. Sure, you can have legal recourse but is it worth the hassle? If you want to nail them and teach them a lesson there are many other ways but not when you are wrong yourself in the first place.
i support Pamela. nothing wrong with her…cause police now are very not politely…the way the talk and etc.
1. nothing wrong to tape the whole conversation…if wrong, u summon and that all.
2. Police is public servant. If they do thing accordingly to the law, nothing to worry people tape on you. You just carry your jobs.
3. People write on summon paper because sometimes wrongly accuse in the summon paper. example, you dun speed, they accuse you for over speed.
4. Police feel that they should not be question so far…they r king. That to change mindset. We could ask y and questioning them.
5. Police can say apa saja la…they said u must follow….NO NO NO….
A wrong is a wrong, whether on the part of the lady or the recalcitrant police officers.
The policemen were not acting professional.
This should be reported and investigated with no quarters given.
On top of everything else, wouldn't it have been much easier if the national language is used instead of one babbling away in pseudo stiff-upper lipped English and the policeman looking on incredulously without understanding what she actually meant?
C'mon, we have a national language.Learn it,la. It is just a chicken talking to a duck!
it is surprising that ppl think that it is ok for police to react as they did. that is the problems with malaysians today. they react with so much hate and anger that they find it acceptable. whether pam was right or not is not the issue. the issue is: is the reaction from the policemen appropriate for what is essentially a small problem. i can only assume they were trained well. i dread to think what the reaction would be to a bigger and more stressful situation?confrontation
@Gordon
How can she leave without her IC and driver's license? The fact is that they have them, means she cannot leave. And to the post summon attitude, she asked for her summon, IC and driver's license back. Tell me how does that show she is being uncooperative with the authority? And based on the video, she clearly wrote something on the summon which she refused to show (Pam tell us what did you write there?) that provoked the police. She is wrong. But prior to that it was the police who 'intimidated' her. Police nowadays are very polite. Because they know they may have been brought to court. For you who say she is stupid, if you were in the same situation, would you keep quiet? Especially when you feel you have done nothing wrong? Come on Malaysians, both parties were wrong ok. In this case, there isn't a complete right or a complete wrong. We only know that Pam made a mistake which she duly admitted and she asked for a summon. Did she bribe the police? No she didn't. Did she provoke the police prior to asking the summon? No she didn't as well. So tell me those who are reading the comments, Pam is wrong by law but she is also right by law. How can a right person be wrong by law when she clearly admitted to it?
For those who mooted the idea of sending this trouble maker south of the boarder…TOLONG LAH …we don't need this CRAP.
Peace.
Danny LoHHH,
You talked just like politician.
One whole big rounds of YES/NO/YES/NO. Tense voice, her insecurity, blablablabla.
So did you agree or not on these points:-
1: She committed a traffic offense.
2: She could have reasonably asked for what she done wrong. Even if she's 'wrongfully' accused. She shouldn't simply take it out of them.
3: If she were not in control, she could have uses court to resolve her unhappiness.
4: Her Post-SummonOffered attitude reflects her REBELLIOUS attitude that marked her simply as uncooperative with the authority.
5: This whole situation could have been done by just accepting the Summons and solve later.
6: She's Stupid!
I marked YES to all of em.
PAM, if you're reading this.
YOU ARE STUPID. AIGH.
Like you always do. Time and time again, defending righteousness OVERBOARD.
Akal Pamela nie, di bawa tapak kaki lah..
Sebut2 haklah, abis tu polis tu takdak hak?
Takkan takdak perasaan kot?
Mampuslah ko!!
But to continue my story, the police said my Malay was not good enough. Walaupun aku bangga jadi orang Malaysia. Tapi aku hendak tanya sekalian, jikalau anda terlibat dalam situasi macam ini, apakah tindakan anda seterusnya?
Pamela, stop your pretentious act of being righteous. Since you have got enough "airtime", why don't you just apologize for your inconsiderate action.
sikap amoi nih xleh blah..memg kurang ajar sgguh
n sengaja nk tunjuk hebat.syabas kpd polis krna xpukul amoi tu yg memg patut kna terajang..duk dalam hutan la klu nk buat undang2 sndri n prangai kurang ajar tu..kwn dgn binatang je
Pam,
Firstly I would like to thank you for video-ing this incident. It's the truth of Malaysian Police and I had the same incident happened to me. But despite that, you admitted that it is your mistake for not plugging on the handsfree kit that day and you asked for a summon. About them intimidating you, it is their fault. And unfortunately, you may have been fooled by this people. The summon you gave maybe an original copy of the summon. But those people are bogus. Firstly they don't have a police badge on them and they do not a police number. Their IDs and names can be bogus registrations and the motorcycle plates are as well. Having the levels on their sleeves are also bogus. Usually the stripes are made of metal and they are placed closer to the opening of the sleeve.
Anyway thank God for making this video and even more so you being safe and sound. Hope this teaches a lesson to the police force.
Over and out

Loyar Burok, pls remove this FAKE and bar them from posting here. Little wonder BN is dying off.
This video and the subsequent comments had indeed shown that there are serious problems with our society. Some of them are as follow:
1) The image problem of our law enforcement officer, particularly the police. They are deemed corrupted and unprofessional. The video clearly shown that they are not well trained and were at a time at a lost to what to do with Pamela. Though credit to where it is due, they have managed to exercise restraint. A well trained policeman would not bother what Pamela wrote on the summon paper. A summon is issued, she had signed it, done. They have acted outside their power when they were seizing the summon signed, the driving license and the Identity card. That was unprofessional.
2) Pamela had indeed committed a traffic offense. But she had the right to ask and find out what offense she had committed. She was exercising her right. What the video shown is only part of the story, we didn't get to see what transpire before but those who are quick to condemn her had failed to see that she is alone and there are two men in a police uniform on two unmarked motorcycles. Haven't we read news in the newspaper about girls being raped by fake policemen? Pamela's concern was real, her fear for her own safety was real too. Didn't you guys hear her voice crack? She was scared.
3) Some of the comments I read here only shows that these people are racist and bigots. The problem is we have a lot of them here, which made me sad.
4) Yes, Pamela is ignorant. Switching to speaker phone is not the same as using hands free kit. You are still holding the phone with one hand. So, it's not hands free. But she didn't act out of her line by asking what's the difference between using hands free kit and "hands free Speaker", as she put it. The police could easily resolve the matter by simply telling her that she was still using one hand on the speaker whereas on hands free, both of her hands would be free. Here, it shows again the police was not well trained and they have handled the situation poorly.
5) Many of the people who commented here assumed that Pamela is the one controlling the situation. The question is why is it that these people here all assumed that Pamela is the one should control the situation? Is it because they have all so used to police men being untrained and unprofessional? That the one being pulled over should be the one being civil and resolve the situation and not the other way round? Isn't It the police duty to maintain peace and order? Shouldn't It be the police men whom should conduct themselves professionally? Do you see these two men conducted themselves professionally in the video? If so, then I feel sorry for you for you have no idea how a professional and well trained police should behave. I recommend you guys check this video out and see how a professional police men would and should behave:-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXY2fImfr7Y
6) The people who lamented those who insulted the Police for not able to speak English is as bad as those who are lamenting Pamela for not able to speak Malay as good as they wished. Yes, this is Malaysia, but which one is Bahasa Malaysia? Is it Bahasa Baku? Or is it Bahasa Melayu? Or the current Bahasa that is littered with English borrowed terms? If the dewan pustaka bahasa dan budaya cannot make up their mind how Bahasa should be can you blame us for not mastering the language? When authority that is suppose to promote the language respect not the language itself and keep changing it and mutilating it, how can you blame the non-native speaker for failing to master the language? Yes, Pamela's Bahasa is horrible. But if you are using this as the reason to attack her then you are no different from those bigots who condemn the two police men for their equally bad English.
well, well, well, seems like some donkey want to talk politic in here, pls grow up mate!!!
btw pam, you're the one create this thing, if u just sign the summons (but u sign + u wrote something-btw, why you not take a pic what have you wrote??are u fear or what??), this would not be happen, last 2 month, me also was stop by police officer for cut queue, but, i just admitted my fault n they just give me a warning, they ask me i want summons or not, then i just give them a simple answer, if u want to give me, i'll take it cos my fault, but they just give me a warning..just simple as that….
if you want respect from others, pls respect others 1st!
cheers!!!
Serious Pam, WTF were you thinking?
If you're not happy with the summons, go take it out on Court. After all, if you don't pay, you're automatically invited to Court anyway.
Of all the police that I've met, I can honestly say, these two guys were 'Nice' enough. You haven't seen a really rude cop that would pull you out by grabbing your neck just because you didn't answer him properly. Well, that's because you're a girl. They were 'soft' enough to you.
And BTW, you were showing your explosive attitude toward them. In a way, obstructing them performing their job.
This video just showed your stupidity to the world.
And people who are supporting you are just 'PROUD OF YOUR ANTI-AUTHORITY ATTITUDE' coz they won't frikkin do that… EVER. They all know it's a stupid thing to do.
They might say "Hey, you have your right to film him?" "It's not wrong".
But think again. No matter how UNWRONG you are to Film him, you are still in a way "Mengganggu Polis Bertugas". It's still an offense.
I just wanna end this by saying again.
YOU ARE STUPID.
Haram jadah punyer amoi….
Nak tunjuk kiasu ko pi le wat kat kandang babi…..
your attitude is like bitch… live in malaysia, but speak malay like a shit head communis in china…
better move to singapore or hongkong la bitch if you don;t want to follow the rules in malaysia…
With that woman behaving like a cunt, I salute those cops for not bitch slapping her.
Oh and what was she pulled over for? For talking on her hand-phone while driving I believe? Have any of you pro-Pamela suckers ridden a motorbike on the street and observe the crap people-on-handphones-while-driving do? Many a time, some moron almost run me over.
Fining/summoning someone for that sort of offense is a joke. They should be jailed for a week and be given 3 strokes of the rotan instead.
IMO opinion, kudos to the "illiterate" cops for not losing their temper.
Oh and Pamela, if you happen to be reading this, please learn to improve the use of your Malay language. Your command of it is a disgrace. You are a MALAYsian, not Singaporean or Chinese or whatever. I'm Indian and even I cringe when I hear you speak Malay.
This is result of the "Head not straight, the tail will go crooked".
if she claims to be as literate as she wants us to believe, she shd be more tolerant of the 2 lesser educated polis officers. at no time were they rude or threatening. if any, she was the one acting out the role of the victim without provocation. her only probable intention is to video a moment that wld make her a "star" on youtube. sadly that "moment" never happened. going on to claim she is related to "so n so" is irrelevant. an offence is an offence whichever way you see it. I believe all road users have the 2 polis officers to thank, she cld have killed someone.
no GOD fearing person wld lie and act like this. shame on you Pamela.
dah salah, macam2 cerita pulak…suke putar belit daa..gaya mcm power je kan pompuan ni. camane pulak polis dituduh amik IC dia sdgkan dia yg bagi?? bukannye poli2 tu rmpas IC dia dr handbag dia
The fact is the summon has been issued to Pamela. It is her duty to be present in court to answer the charge against her. Prove your innocent. In the video I heard her talking " I am going to make a police report ". Has she made a police report yet?
May be the two policemen have briefed their superiors whether there are grounds to take legal action against Pamela for publishing their privacy in the video.
Polis tu pun manusia bukan robot. you terima saman tu pastu balik la. tu jer simple.
antu melayu : Jangan memalukan bangsa sendiri boleh tak. Mereka rakyat negara ni, jadi kalau kau tak suka yang diorg rakyat Malaysia, kau boleh berambus jugak. Apa daa. Perempuan tu yang sengal, ko gi sabit kaum buat apa. Ko pun sama je macam dia, ada masalah mental.
If this video is trying to show about police intimidation or corruption then it's an epic failure. I thought it's common sense to talk nicely to get your way out of trouble. Oh well as my secondary school teacher once told us, some people have no common sense whatsoever even if it's to save their lives.
"…. I maintained that my phone was on the handsfree speaker & I was holding the phone at a distance as I spoke but they kept saying that I did not use the handsfree. They asked for my IC & driver’s license in which I complied & gave it to them. As they were holding the summons book, they didn’t read out which Act that I had violated when I asked them what the difference was, between using a handsfree kit & the handsfree speaker"…
you call your self educated and know the law but can't even Differentiate handsfree kit / handsfree speaker…gosh..the fact is that you were still HOLDING THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING…!!!
this is what i call bodoh sombong…
Oh puh-leeeze… police intimidation… acting like gangsters?? You cannot be serious. If you think this is 'police intimidation', then you really do not know 'police intimidation'.
This was just an ORDINARY much-ado-about-nothing incident in a society that is pretty dysfunctional… nothing more.
Pamela was caught using a phone without a hands-free kit. She probably felt aggrieved because unlike the thousands who blatantly talk and drive every day and get away with it, at least she was trying to use the speaker. She was also probably taken by surprise because there usually aren't any policemen on the roads… as most malaysian drivers know, we can pretty much get away with anything – beat the lights, illegal u-turns, cut in at the last last last min, no seat belts, no seat belts for kids (omg, why do people do this???). More often than not, even if there is a policeman, their top priority is hardly road safety or the rule of law. In a situation where the rule of law is flouted so openly and the general sense is that nobody is bothered too much, then it is only natural to feel 'victimized' when you DO get caught for something.
From there, it is only a short hop, skip and a jump to feeling aggressive when you sort of 'know' that the policemen are really not interested in road safety and they come out with the usual "macam mana mau settle?”
But this is normal and how it SHOULD BE. The police are paid really crap money for doing a job that virtually no one bothers to say thank you. I don't' think 'leaving the door open' to bribery makes them 'low life' or 'UMNO low life', as someone said (??) This makes them kinda normal. I'd be really worried if they were NOT like this… imagine a policeman just as badly paid but totally wrapped up, not in him or herself, but in the rule of law and justice… scary… i don't think we need THAT kind of cop on our streets…?
The other thing that gets me is why most right minded people assume that the best thing to do in this situation is to pay the summons… WHY? Why is that better? Why is it better to give your money to the government machinery that has a pretty terrible track record for public service delivery (law and order, education, health, information etc) and one that has a pretty awesome record for bribery and corruption (way way beyond the level of these 2 policemen). Why wouldn't it be better to support these cops and give them the money instead? Of course, we would be complicit in something that was illegal… but sometimes illegal might be better than legal and idiotic…!!?
We need better cops on our streets. The status quo is just really crappy. But we are not going to get better anything until we learn to talk about stuff a little better. Mohd Arshad, Jimmy Chan, TOKZ – way offside guys.
ridiculous!!!! this so called 'journalist' action is kinda stupid. what the hell are you thinking when you wrote something on the summon book? just accept the fact that you were wrong. just sign the damn summon you idiot. dont make any accuses saying that the cops intimidated you. you are the one who provoked them first. you should be an actress rather than journalist. effing lame.
p/s: it is never wrong to practice your own right but with certain limit.
Fairplay,
yes u may be right but dont u think that is abuse of power to detain the lady to the police station even knowing the ic n license are genuine. That means if the police dun like ur attitude they can bring u to the police station stating that u have fake ic. And u agree to power abuse. Thx
Wow. They're all YouTube stars now, aren't they? Personally, the policemen featured here are not really my type. I respect Pam for her guts, but I don't like her behavior either. The way she talked to the police is rude and condescending. "Do you know what intimidate means?" Yang tak faham tu dengar pun sakit hati sebab betul-betul tak faham.
Some things are better left unspoken, but I believe most of us know how some policemen can be. Not just in Malaysia, but in some other countries where policemen there are so much sexier and hotter, some are actually dirtier than ever. The uniform does look fake. Or maybe it's just problem with the fabric cleaner at home. But if they are real policemen, I think we should question their professionalism rather than intelligence. Hey, come on… we can't expect everyone to be of equal brightness, right? How many times we have complained about stupid colleagues, and yet we just have to live with them and there's nothing else we can do.
Knowing our rights is a good thing (hang on, do I have rights?), but for situations like this, the ultimate objective is to ensure that you don't get yourself into more troubles, keep that emotion and sort out the issue – taking the summons, wasting each other's time and talking it through until they release you, or other alternatives you-know-what-I-mean. Choose what's best for yourself. The professionalism of the policemen is definitely questionable, but I'm not sure Pam claiming that she knows the law and her rights helps either. I think there's no set way in concluding anyone knows it better. There's always room for argument depending on the situation. As for this case, all we have here is a video and Pam filling us in with the first chapter. Not enough to tell the whole story, nor enough to prove the woman's a real bitch.
I agree that some of us including myself need to know more about our rights and get educated on the law. But there are many other ways. You don't necessarily have to put your own life and safety at risk.
Peace out…
Fyi,
I am sorry but you are the one that does not understand the system. Technically speaking, the police can retain your IC and request you to report to the police station for further investigation just on the suspicion that the IC may not be genuine. You may like it or agree but this how the system works in every coountry in the world.
jadah lak si pamela pig ni? dont try tu manipulate law and situation..!! PROVEN u r wrong…!! shame on u pamela stupid bam bam bigalooooooo…!! hahahaha..!! =))
If the 2 policemen are doing their job professionally they will be proud to be recorded. They did too much mistakes so they were afraid of being recorded. And who says u cant record when public servants are doing their duty.
Yes u cant film anyone private without their permission but u can film the public servant while they are doing their job.
Thats what all the companies are putting up cctv to monitor the staff working attitude. And if u are doing something ugly u wont like to be recorded as well, and yes after working hours u cant film ur staff private life.
Does that clear everyone who thinks recording our police officer is still wrong. Its because we lack of these ppl who records them that they are becoming rotten apple in the forces so daring to demand bribes. Dont u guys even figure that out?
Its a cycle we are afraid of pdrm and so they think they have all the rights above us citizens and we are becoming the victims.
Mr 0 she passed the ic n license for them to open summon n they have no rights or whatsoever power to confiscate it n force her to the police station. If the police have the rights to do so u can be sure they will bring it n report her but they were actually aware of it and so they cant do anything but return her the ic n license.
Its saddening to see so many ppl still thinks without brains. Kudos to the ppl we are still 3rd world country. LOL
And those who really trying so hard to defend their rights can actually consider migrating then changing the system. Its really disappointing how the citizens think.
Dear Pamela,
I just wanted to say that you were too emotional until you forgotten that you were actually make scene with arguing with the cop that you have done nothing wrong by using HP while driving without any handsfree and arguing that loud speaker mode is equivalent to the handsfree, and yes i know you are so educated and well known the laws, so you are just try to make the public servant irritated with your behavior and let them talk harsh towards yourself so you could used this video against them. By the way i have been stopped so many time by the enforcement, I just get down from ma car, wished them and asked what was my mistake and they have talk with me so cool and explained it. At the end i just took the summon and walked off, if i was at the right side just clarify with them, and they might confronted with ma statements, we shaked hand and walk off.. So what is so difficult here, and it seem you were shoving off with your english and telling them that You are Malaysian Citizen who can't have a conservation in the language where both party understand.
God Bless You ma dear Friend. And please be humble and not arrogant like this next time.
FOR THE COPS IN DA FILM: You guys are ok, but next time try to control your anger when deal with this kind of people. Salute for PDRM. My dream Job.. But could not make it. Together WE STAND WITH YOU PDRM.
Mugilan Paramesvaran.
Public of Malaysia.
The one who Love Malaysia.
Yes, You said police steal your IC. hello, if i am not mistaken, you are the one who passed to them,so, how?
Damn RUde lady…no manners…still dare claimed your family close to Tun Razak…LOL…so what?
this video didn't showed the opening, don't know is tat police problem or tat lady problem, but tat lady should not do like tat, ask for summon then just take it and leave, any complain just go report. if the police rank is sergeant, she will get trouble.
