The ‘Anti-gerrymandering: 1 Undi 1 Rakyat 1 Nilai’ campaign is the brainchild of the pioneer batch of #SekolahAktivisme participants. An initiative of the Malaysian Centre For Constitutionalism and Human Rights (MCCHR), #SekolahAktivisme is aimed at developing activists through coaching sessions that includes personality tests, personal character development, the different roles of an activist, implementation of campaign and others by professional coaches.
For its first campaign, participants of #SekolahAktivisme intends to raise public awareness on the negative effects of gerrymandering and malapportionment in the Malaysian electoral system.
Included in the programme is a seminar about the MCCHR Resource Centre and a talk about anti-gerrymandering by Dr. Ong Kian Meng, Member of Parliament for P102 Serdang. Dr. Ong has authored and co-authored various papers and articles on the subject matter, including, amongst others, ‘Electoral Delimitation – A Case Study of Kedah’, which examines the disparity of constituency sizes in Kedah after the 2003 Re-Delineation Exercise.

Anti-gerrymandering: Kempen “1 Undi 1 Rakyat 1 Nilai” adalah hasil idea ahli-ahli pelopor #SekolahAktivism. Sebagai satu initiatif oleh Malaysian Centre For Constitutionalism and Human Rights (MCCHR), #SekolahAktivism bertujuan mendidik aktivis-aktivis melalui sesi -sesi latihan termasuklah ujian personality, pembangunan keperibadian individu, perbezaan peranan-peranan aktivis, perlaksanaan kempen dan sebagainya oleh jurulatih professional.
Untuk kempen pertamanya, peserta-peserta #SekolahAktivism ingin meningkatkan kesedaran awam tentang kesan buruk “gerrymandering” dan ketidakseimbangan persempadanan semula dalam sistem pilihanraya Malaysia.
Antara program lain ialah seminar tentang Pusat Sumber MCCHR dan penerangan tentang anti-gerrymandering oleh Dr. Ong Kian Ming, ahli parlimen P102 Serdang. Dr. Ong telah menulis banyak kertas kerja dan artikel mengenai isu ini termasuk yang bertajuk “Electoral Delimitation- A Case Study of Kedah” , yang mengkaji tentang jurang saiz kawasan dalam negeri Kedah selepas persempadanan semula yang dibuat pada tahun 2003.
