Back Home

Been on a thousand travels, on a million roads
Still get lost sometimes still trying to find my soul
But there’s a place that I’ll always know
back home, back home

The days of waiting by the warmth of Mother’s stove
Turn to images of what I wanted to outgrow
Trying to get back the things I let go
back home, back home

And places where I have been
just spaces there in between
with chases of running dreams
that stop all at once
back where I’m from

and Mother wonders if the son sees her old
or will hold her fingers on the days it gets cold
Walk together like years ago
back home, back home

Daddy’s princess, wears her smile like a crown
He wanna keep it there, so he’s hardly around
Next thing he knows she’s in her wedding gown
back home, back home
