Posted by a Minion, on the instructions of His Supreme Eminenceness, Lord Bobo Barnabus.

It has been quiet on this blawg. His Supreme Eminenceness noticed, and has emerged with a decree. As usual he has asked one of us to type it, because a wig that fine is not meant to bend over a keyboard.

To mark 20 years of LoyarBurok and 15 years of MCCHR, there will be a dinner, and you are coming.

LoyarBurok 20: A solidarity night with friends of MCCHR is on Wednesday, December 9, 2026, the eve of Human Rights Day, from 6.30pm in Kuala Lumpur. Venue will be announced once Lord Bobo has inspected it for bananas.

Expect a few words from the founders on MCCHR’s plans for 2027, live performances, the MCCHR Awards for Human Rights and Democracy, and a protest art show. Lord Bobo has imposed a strict time limit on lawyers holding microphones.

All proceeds from the night go to MCCHR’s work in 2027. Lord Bobo will not be taking a cut, though he would like it noted that he approved the menu.

Tickets start at RM180 a seat for a table of 10 at loyarburok.com/20. If you can, buy an extra seat for an activist who couldn’t otherwise come. Those interested to sponsor or volunteer can write to [email protected].

You don’t have to be a lawyer to be a LoyarBurokker, and you don’t have to be one to eat with them.

Keep LoyarBurokking.

Malaysian Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights (MCCHR) is a non-profit based in Kuala Lumpur with the mission of promoting active democratic participation and human rights awareness.
