Stand for the oppressed, come for the launch
Onyx Charity Association of Selangor (Purple Cow) is a charitable organisation started up and run by youths. We aim to influence our peers in becoming more involved with bigger issues concerning our world today, one of these being human trafficking. We recognise that, despite the fact that it is one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world, the issue remains largely ignored by the general public – perhaps due to a lack of information. As such, the first campaign being carried out by the organisation is Project Liber8 [liberate], a human trafficking awareness campaign.
Trapped and abused, unheard and unprotected. For the victims of human trafficking, this is their reality – and a cruel one upon which Project Liber8 aims to shine a ray of much needed light.
On the 10th of November 2012, Project Liber8 will be launching itscampaign at Zouk Club KL. The main purpose of this event is not only to kick off the campaign, but also to raise funds for the victims. Proceeds will be channelled as follows:
The Liber8 Launch will showcase performances by local bands like An Honest Mistake, Busco and Once Upon A Time There Was A Sausage Named Bob. There’ll also be celebrity appearances by Amber Chia, Kimberly Leggett, Suchitra Kumar and many more. Hosted by Joseph Germani, this is an event not to be missed! Details are as follows:
