Our very own Renuka Balasubramaniam and Dato’ Yasmeen Shariff have submitted proposals to get a small grant for a project to increase access to justice for some of the most deserving in Malaysia.

Renuka’s proposal aims to increase legal aid to refugees, whilst Yasmeen’s aims to improve the system of juvenile justice.

Aside from the judge’s prizes, there is also a mechanism whereby there is a People’s Choice award. All it takes is a about 5 minutes – just follow the instructions below.

There are a host of other proposals as well on the site, so please do browse the site.

Dear Friends and JusticeMakers,

International Bridges to Justice is pleased to announce the return of the Justicemakers People’s Choice Award. As you may know, IBJ is determining eight JusticeMakers legal aid fellowship recipients via a formal judging process. The ninth $5,000 fellowship recipient will be chosen by YOU.

Now through May 17th, registered users on www.justicemakers.net have the opportunity to rate access to justice initiatives on a 1 to 5-star scale. The person whose project has the highest average rating at the end of this period wins a cash prize, participation in a week-long training event in Singapore, and a global network of support to implement his or her idea.

Take five minutes to browse and rate our Finalists’ project ideas and make one JusticeMaker’s vision of justice a reality. Click the links above to get started.

IBJ JusticeMakers People's Choice Award

Here’s How it Works:

-You must register to participate. (Registration for JusticeMakers is free and open to anyone who has a passion for justice.)
– Once registered, you can rate each project once.
– You can evaluate as many or as few projects as you like.
-You can also evaluate a specific project by clicking the “Browse Finalists” button in the side tool bar, selecting the project, and clicking the “Rate Me” icon at the top of the page.
– If you’d like to learn more about a project before assigning a score, you can click on the project name at the top of the evaluation page to be taken to the detailed project application. Simply click the “Rate Me” icon to return to the evaluation page.

Please let us know if you have any questions!
