The Safer Malaysia Committee of the Bar Council, will host a Forum, titled “Towards a Safer Malaysia”.

Issue in discussion: The escalating crime rate, and what solutions can be offered.

Date: 27 April 2013 (Saturday)

Time: 4.00 pm

Venue: Bar Council Auditorium, KL

The following speakers have been lined up:

  1. Shamsul Sulaiman: KL Bar Lawyer, and former DPP.
  2. Wendy ML Tan: Creater/Founder of Malaysian Crime Awareness Campaign on Facebook.
  3. Jeffrey Phang: Community Leader of Kota Damansara Residents.
  4. Dr Sundramoorthy: Associate Professor USM, and Exco Member of Crime Prevention Foundation.
  5. Richard Wee of the Safer Malaysia Committee.
  6. A police officer from PDRM (to be confirmed).

The forum will be moderated by LoyarBurokker Seira Sacha (Selangor Bar lawyer, human rights activist, campaigner for the “those over 30 can still be hipsters wei” NGO).

All are invited to hear views and share thoughts.

A Candle Light Vigil also be held at 7.00 pm, after the Forum at the Bar Council Building in memory of all victims of crime.
